What is it?
An iPod is a small, portable device used as an audio player, image display or file storage. You listen through headphones or speakers. It can also store photos to view in the window display.
How do I choose songs?
iPod uses a touch-sensitive Apple Click Wheel to navigate your music on the iPods display. Spin the wheel to scroll through playlists.
How do I put songs on the iPod?
Music is downloaded onto the iPod from your computer using a USB connector cable from the computer to the iPod. You can import music in a variety of formats, such as MP3 or AAC, and at whatever quality level youd prefer.
Is it only for Macintosh?
No, the iPod can be used with Mac or Windows operating systems.

Can I load my own CDs?
Yes. Put your CD into your Mac or PC and click the Import button. You can import music in a variety of formats, such as MP3 or AAC, and at whatever quality level youd prefer.
Choose the Apple Lossless encoder for sound quality indistinguishable from a CD at about half the original file size. And with USB 2.0 and FireWire support, you can transfer the music from an entire CD to iPod in just 5 seconds or less.
How long does the battery last?
iPod lets you play your music for up to 15 hours on a single battery charge. iPod keeps you aware of its charge level. iPod recharges by plugging it into your computer or a normal wall socket (via the included power adapter). A full charge takes 5 hours, an 80% capacity charge takes 3 hours.
How does the Photo Gallery work?
Apple has now incorporated iPhoto into iPod. iPod holds up to 25,000 photos (if used for photos exclusively). Scroll through your image library using the same click wheel. iPod's full colour display shows 25 full colour thumbnails at a time. Click centre to choose a photo to fill the display.
What else can it do?

A storage facility
You can use the 20GB or 60GB of storage capacity to transfer files from your Mac or PC to iPod. These files could be letters, Word docs, Excel spreadsheets, PDFs etc. Files are transferred useing the included USB 2.0 cable or the optional FireWire cable.

Connecting with a digital camera
When the iPod is attached to the iPod Camera Connector ($50), images are transferred from the camera to the iPod, freeing up memory cards in the camera. A 60GB iPod can hold up to 25,000 photos (captured on a 3-megapixel camera).

A Voice Recorder
By plugging in an optional microphone ($70), you can record your voice or someone else's (eg an interview). Several companies, including Griffin and Belkin, offer devices designed for iPod. The files automatically sync to your iTunes music library when you get back to your computer, so you can listen to them.

An appointment calendar
Many applications iCal, Microsoft Entourage and Palm Desktop, to name a few export calendar files in colour, in vCalendar or iCalender formats, both of which iPod supports.

Contact Information Files
Using industry-standard vCard files, iPod lets you store and access all your important contact information names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses.

Play Games
Games included are Music Quiz, Solitaire, Brick and Parachute.

Store Text Notes
The iPod Notes Reader lets you take text-based information such as lists, news downloaded off the web, stock tips, your workout regimen, restaurant reviews, directions, even your shopping list. Just transfer To-do Lists to your iPod from your Mac or PC via the included USB 2.0 or optional FireWire cable.

iPod has a sleep timer that lets you fall asleep to music.
